How to Safely Remove Acrylic Nails
Step 1: Trim Down the Nails
Before you begin removing your acrylic nails, it's important to trim them down as short as possible. This will make the removal process easier and less likely to damage your natural nails. Use a pair of nail clippers to carefully trim the acrylic nails down to the shortest length possible without cutting into your natural nails.
Step 2: Soak the Nails in Acetone
Once the nails are trimmed, soak them in a bowl or container filled with 100% acetone. The acetone will help to dissolve the acrylic and make it easier to remove. Soak the nails for at least 20 minutes, or until the acrylic has softened and is easy to remove.
Step 3: Use a Cuticle Pusher or Orange Stick
Once the acrylic has softened, use a cuticle pusher or orange stick to gently push the acrylic away from your natural nails. Start at the base of the nail and work your way towards the tip. Be careful not to apply too much pressure, as you don't want to damage your natural nails.
Step 4: Use a Nail File to Buff the Nails
Once the acrylic has been removed, use a nail file to gently buff the nails to remove any remaining acrylic residue and smooth out the surface. Take your time and be gentle, as you don't want to damage your natural nails.
Step 5: Moisturize Your Nails
After removing your acrylic nails, it's important to moisturize your nails and cuticles to help restore their health and prevent dryness. Apply a cuticle cream or nail oil to your nails and cuticles and massage it in gently.
